OK…so I can’t believe it is 2012!!!!!! Can you?? Where does the time go? This year has flown by….
What am I most excited about for 2012? The STREET cookbook, of course! It has been years in the making (literally)….and we have a lot of terrific stuff in there: great stories, recipes, photos…it really gives you a feel for what my whole idea behind STREET was….how my travel and my passion for learning about other cultures coming from the STREET food I have encountered over the years propelled me to open STREET. I think we will really surprise you with what is in there…just amazing food and a little trip around the globe with me. That is coming in the early fall of 2012, but you can pre-order now!
And I am truly excited about what is ahead for Border Grill in this next year…. Our Border Grill trucks have been incredible… We love getting out on the street with the trucks! And we are exploring more Border Grill locations … We just celebrated our 25th anniversary and we feel like we are ready to for the next 25!!!
Aside from that…the election! Yikes!! It is always such a big deal to me…..I remember the night Obama was elected and the feeling was just amazing. It seems like that just happened…..but now we have this whole new cast of characters and with all of the turmoil in the country it will be interesting to see what we can do to get people feeling inspired again.
And of course, I hope to travel in 2012. This year was a lot of work travel…but next year I would love to tackle some place far away and fun…we have been tossing around the idea of some cool travel tours I could do. I would love to be able to take people with me and experience these great places together…maybe 2012 is the year??
Whatever it is, I know it will be a great one…I feel 2012 has the vibe of a really big and inspirational year….
My new years resolutions?? Hmmm…
Be able to touch my forehead to my knees without bending my knees. Play tennis. Read more novels. And not work out of guilt (but I am jewish!). What about you?
I am so excited for this cookbook too! I pestered the hell out of you – “when will it be out!!!??” – So glad I now have it pre-ordered and can “rest’ until it gets here. 2012 – I hope to bake and cook many more new things, I hope to start running again and I hope to have a beautiful year with my family.
